The reporter learned at the site that in 2023, with the deepening of the full chain integration reform of intellectual property rights, Zhejiang handed in a high-score answer sheet in intellectual property rights: 65,000 new invention patents were granted domestically in the province, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%. Among them, the number of high-value invention patents exceeded 120,000, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%. The annual cumulative number of patent licensing conversions reached 114,500, an increase of 21.8% year-on-year, including more than 30,000 patent licenses, ranking first in the country. The social satisfaction with intellectual property protection increased to 86.02 points, setting a new historical high.

In 2024, Zhejiang will take “Intellectual property empowers new-quality productivity” as the theme, and the deepening reform of the whole chain integration of intellectual property as the mainline, to promote the boom of enterprises with intellectual property.

"We aim to achieve 130,000 high-value invention patents in our province this year," said the relevant official in charge of the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau. This year, we will implement policies based on the conditions of different enterprises and strengthen the synergy between intellectual property creation and technological innovation.

At the event site, Zhejiang Intellectual Property Office signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Patent Examination Cooperation Jiangsu Center of the Patent Office of China National Intellectual Property Administration. The two sides will build a new cooperation mechanism in intellectual property research, creation, application, protection, public services, and talent development, so as to take regional advantages and jointly promote the optimization of the regional innovation environment and business environment.

"Jiangsu Center is currently the only national level patent examination cooperation center in the Yangtze River Delta region. In cooperation with the center, we can introduce advantageous resources to boost enterprises with intellectual property and provide them with high-quality professional services," said the relevant official in charge of the Intellectual Property Development Department of the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau.
