The ability in innovative development was greatly improved. The regional innovation capacity in 2022 rose to the fourth place in the country, the intensity of R&D investment in the whole society exceeded 3.4%, and the contribution rate of scientific and technological progress reached 68%.

Zhejiang has set up 11 new national key laboratories, 8,174 new high-tech enterprises and 20,252 new high-tech SMEs. 12 academicians of CAS and CAE and more than 1,500 new leading talents were introduced. Zhejiang won 60 national science and technology awards and every 10,000 people have 13.9 high-value invention patents.
