Taizhou is located in the middle of China's golden coastline, adjacent to Ningbo in the north and Wenzhou in the south. It is one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta according to the regional integrated development plan. Taizhou is the birthplace of China's private economy, the birthplace of the joint-stock cooperative economy, and the pioneer of the market economy. It has been rated as a national civilized city, the happiest city in China, a national environmental protection model city and a national forest city. The city has 67 state-level industrial bases, with 179 products ranking first in domestic and foreign market share in subdivisions. Taizhou has 62 listed companies, and the number of A-share listed companies ranks fourth among prefecture-level cities in the country.
