1. Tourist Group Visa

Target applicants: a group comprising at least 5 members who come to travel in China

A. Documents required for visa application to the Chinese embassy or consulate:

1. An invitation letter/telegram (the master copy or the fax copy) from an authorized unit;

2. The schedule of the tour group (with the number of the tour group specified);

3. Valid passports;

4. A name list of the whole group in triplicate (printed in a standard format).

B. Application through authorized travel agencies for tourist group visas to the authorized ports of entry in China.

The authorized ports of entry are: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Dalian, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Xi'an, Guilin, Hangzhou, Kunming, Guangzhou (Baiyun), Shenzhen (Luohu and Shekou), Zhuhai (Gongbei), Haikou, Sanya, Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai, Chengdu, and Nanjing.

2. Visiting Group Visas

Target applicants: nongovernmental visiting groups of nine or more persons who come to China to for artistic performances, contests, exhibitions, or friendly visits.

Documents required for application:

1. An official invitation letter/telegram (the master copy or the fax copy) from an authorized unit in China (with the number of the authorized organizations specified);

2. One copy of the schedule of the visiting group;

3. Valid passports;

4. A name list of the whole group in triplicate (printed in a standard format).

Note: * Third country nationals cannot apply for group visa.
