Farmers' Professional Cooperatives

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Mary Fu, and I am a PhD student at the Pardee RAND Graduate School in Santa Monica, California. I am currently studying the role of Farmers¡¯ Professional Cooperatives in Chinese agriculture, and how it impacts agricultural productivity. I hope that my research will help further agricultural policy in China. I am aware that Zhejiang province established a law in 2004 granting legal status for registered FPCs. Later, a national law followed in 2006.

I am interested in learning more about the registration process for FPCs under these new laws, as well as gathering information on the number and types of FPCs that have registered with the Administration of Industry and Commerce. There is a clear lack of information on the subject not only in current academic literature but also on the internet, so I am hoping you can personally direct my email to someone who may be able to help. I would be more than happy to further discuss my research or answer any questions. Your guidance is greatly appreciated

Thank you very much in advance for your time.

Sincerely,

Mary Fu
