From 0:00 of Oct. 1st to 24:00 of Oct. 31st this year, all of the ninety counties (cities or districts) in Zhejiang Province have reported cases of infectious diseases, among which are 18 types of notifiable class A or class B infectious diseases, altogether 11236 cases with 14 death cases. There have been no reported cases of plague, SARS, poliomyelitis, highly pathogenic avian influenza virus infection, epidemic encephalitis B, anthrax, meningococcal meningitis, pertussis, diphtheria and brucellosis. In October 2009, the infectious diseases with the reported number of cases ranking the first five were as follows: syphilis with 2938 cases, tuberculosis with 2054 cases, hepatitis B with 1994 cases, A/H1N1 Flu with 1508 cases and gonorrhea with 1492 cases, which accounted for 88.88% of all the reported cases. The death cases of infectious diseases ranking the first five were as follows: 5 cases of AIDS, 5 cases of tuberculosis, 2 cases of rabies, 1 case of hepatitis non-type and 1 case of neonatal tetanus.
