GDP for the Cities in Zhejiang Province in the First Half of 2009
2009-8-6

The increase rate of GDP for the cities in Zhejiang Province in the first half year holds steady after sharp fall in the first quarter this year due to the global financial crisis.

In the first half year of 2009, the three cities with the smallest gross volumes, namely Zhoushan, Lishui and Quzhou, are still the fastest in economic development, with the respective GDP increase rates of 10.0%, 9.9%, and 9.8%. On the other hand, the cities of greater economic strength, namely Taizhou, Wenzhou and Ningbo, are the slowest, with the respective GDP increase rates of 4.4%, 4.5%, and 4.6%. The negative growth of the industrial added value for the latter three cities, however, is responsible for their relatively slow GDP increase.
