From 0:00am on February 1, 2009 to 24:00pm on February 28, 2009, all the 90 counties (cities or districts) across the province have reported infectious diseases; a total of 9038 cases in 16 categories of the first class and second class notifiable diseases were reported, among which 13 died. There is no report on plague, cholera, high pathogenic human bird flu, infectious atypical pneumonia, poliomyelitis, epidemic encephalitis B, dengue fever, anthrax, leptospirosis, schistosomiasis or diphtheria.
In February 2009, the diseases ranking the top five for the reported numbers are: syphilis, hepatitis B, pulmonary tuberculosis, gonorrhea and hepatitis (non-branched), accounting for 90.16% in the total epidemic size. The reported death counts are as follows: pulmonary tuberculosis (4), AIDS (2), hepatitis B (2), epidemic encephalitis (2), rabies (1), tetanus of the newborn (1) and gonorrhea (1).
