1. To carry out and implement the Party¡¯s and state developmental strategies, guidelines, policies and general planning relating to information industry; to search and make up the developmental plans, guidelines and policies for the informatization in our province¡¯s national economy and society; to promote electronic information products manufacture, software industry and communications industry.

2. To carry out and execute the country¡¯s relevant laws, rules of law, regulations on electronic information products manufacture, software industry, information service industry and on pushing forward national economy and social informatization; in accordance with the provincial practicality and on entrustment, to investigate to draft local rules of law, regulation protocol about information industry (trade) management; to be responsible for administrative execution of the law and its supervision.

3. To carry out the national technological policies, technical systems, and technical standards on electronic information products manufacture, software industry and information service industry; to make up relevant local standards in accordance with the practicality of our province; to take charge of the product quality supervision and management of electronic information industry.

4. To take charge of the management on public communication resources such as provincial radio frequency; to coordinate and carry out the charging policies on radio frequency resources by the state; to carry out lawful examination and approval of radio station set-ups and radio control; to coordinate to settle radio disturbances and maintain air-born radio wave order; to coopeate with the municipal government to take charge of the construction and management of the province¡¯s radio management agencies.

5. To make lawful supervision on information service market, make service quality supervision, ensure fair competition and protect the state and consumer rights.

6. To lead and foster the development of information industry; to guide structural adjustment in the industry and its products; to guide the reform and development of business enterprises in accordance with industrial policy and technological development policies.

7. To push forward the technological innovation of electronic information products manufacture, software industry and communication industry; to organize and carry out major scientific and technological key-problem-tackling projects and to guide the digestion, absorption and creation of imported technology to promote the industrialization of scientific research results.

8. To execute industrial management on war industry electronics; to cooperate with relevant departments to coordinate the production management of war industry¡¯s electronics products.

9. To organize the advancement of the province¡¯s informatization in national economy; to guide the province¡¯s key informatization project construction; to guide and coordinate the province¡¯s innovation of traditional industry with the help of electronic and information technology; to guide the popularization of electronic information technology and dissemination of education through informatization.

10. To guide the orientation of the foreign venture investment in the industry and to organize recruiting business and venture investment and external cooperation.

11. To take charge of statistical analysis work of the industry and the release of economic information for the industry.

12. To guide the construction of electronic information specialist force of Zhejiang Province.

13. To undertake other affairs as entrusted by the provincial government.
