From Apr. 15, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai will adopt special security inspection measures on the main road junctions leading to Shanghai. Expo 2010 Zhejiang Provincial Safety and Security Leading Group announced on Mar. 18 that applications for Vehicles-to-Shanghai Permit were to receive and process from Apr. 1 in our province.

It is learned that the applications for the permit should accord with the principles of ˇ°applying according to actual needs, being examined by different departments and one-vehicle-one-permitˇ± and the processing will be free of charge. Except the vehicles with Zhejiang army and police license plates that will be granted special permits by the internal military system, the units and individuals in our province can apply for the Vehicles-to-Shanghai Permit in the local vehicle administration stations and police stations, and foreigners and those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in our province can file an application to the local Exit-Entry Administration Office of Public Security Bureau in resident cities and counties. When it comes to the appointed time, vehicles with the Permit can pass all the main road junctions to Shanghai without inspections, while those without will receive inspections from public security organs one by one.

According to preliminary estimation, about 2 million vehicles in our province need to get the Vehicles-to-Shanghai Permit.
