Zhejiang¡¯s February CPI up 3.3%

Due to the Spring Festival, Zhejiang¡¯s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in February rose by 3.3 percent year-on-year, 1.2 percentage points higher than the previous month.
According to the Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics in Zhejiang, prices in all the 8 categories of consumer goods and services went up, among which the prices of health care & personal articles, foodstuff and residence expanded 5.7%, 5.5% and 4.5% respectively.
February saw a decline in the increase of the price of industrial consumer goods, which increased 2.1% year-on-year, with a slightly lower increase rate compared with the previous month. Because of the increasing price in automobiles, the overall price of transportation rallied for the first time, with a rise of 0.4%.
The price of services bounced back with a 2.6% growth year-on-year. Affected by the Spring Festival, prices grew slightly in traveling, air tickets and domestic services.
In addition, Zhejiang¡¯s February PPI climbed by 6.4% year-on-year, 0.7 percentage point higher than the previous month, and it increased 0.4% month-on-month.
