In the news release conference on the provincial economy in the first half year held today, an official concerned in Zhejiang Branch of the National Bureau of Statistics pointed out that, by the end of June, there are altogether 785,000 sub-scaled industrial enterprises in Zhejiang, a number which is roughly the same as in the same period last year. The total number of employees in the sub-scaled industrial enterprises reaches 6.19 million, with a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%, among which the number of enterprise employees dropped by 3.8%, and the number of private-owned enterprise employees dropped by 2%.

The above statistical data were released in response to the current rumor that many medium- and small-sized enterprises in Zhejiang provinces are going bankrupt.
