A new round of Project Hope in Zhejiang Province now starts up in Kaihua County on July 19th, with the slogan of ¡°Helping the poor school children in the Olympic year¡±. This program will not only provide living subsidy for school-aged children and adolescences in low-income rural families, but also focus on public welfare sports activities in poverty-stricken areas, and to instill in those areas the spirits of Olympics.

Kaihua County is the first stop of this program, where 30 children from poverty-stricken families establish contact with over 30 members of Zhejiang Youth Federation or people with loving heart. It was told that, in April, Zhejiang Communist Youth League Committee launched a new program to help the children from low-income rural families. The program includes four main aspects: helping the poor, helping in the study, helping in medical care, and helping in employment. In particular, the ¡°helping in the study¡± program mainly strives to provide living subsidies for school-aged children and adolescences from low-income rural families, with 400 yuan for each elementary school goers every year and 800 yuan for each middle school goers every year. At the same time, the program will also help those children and adolescences to finish their high school and college education, with 1000 yuan for each high school student (including vocational schools and secondary technical schools) every year, and 4000 yuan for each college student in their first year, and 2000 yuan in their subsequent years.
