Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention Reassures the Safety of H1N1 Flu Vaccines

The free vaccination work of the first batch of 840,000 H1N1 flu vaccines arranged by the Ministry of Public Health was carried out all over Zhejiang Province.

As for the safety and effectiveness of H1N1 flu vaccines, Cong Liming, team leader of experts on the vaccination of H1N1 flu vaccines, director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention held that the vaccination of H1N1 flu vaccines was safe. Some abnormal reactions were unavoidable in the process of vaccination on such a large scale. However, the occurrence rate of adverse effects was quite low, viewing from the responses of the vaccination work in other provinces at the previous stage. The adverse effects mainly included partial pain and swollen redness and the general adverse reactions of light temperature and headache were similar to those of seasonal flu vaccines. So far no rare adverse effects have been reported in China.
