It is learned today from the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) Zhejiang Branch that local Red Cross societies at various levels in Zhejiang Province raised disaster relief funds up to 1.165 billion yuan last year, of which the branch at the provincial level raised a record high of 231 million yuan.

Last year, after the major earthquake in Wenchuan, local Red Cross societies in Zhejiang took various measures to hold fund-raising events. By the end of August last year, they received 1.075 billion yuan worth of donated funds and materials from various communities, of which the branch at the provincial level received 207 million yuan.
