From July 27, without even taking a step out of the county, the patients in Qingshuan County, Sichuan Province, a thousand miles away from Zhejiang Province, are able to see the Zhejiang renowned doctors. This morning, in First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the provincial government opened up the country¡¯s first online medical service platform aiding earthquake-stricken areas (see the picture right). The vice-governor Chen Jiayuan delivered a speech and announced the opening-up.

The Wenchuan Earthquake rendered Qingchuan¡¯s medical system completely paralyzed. The establishment and opening-up of the Platform entitles Qingchuan to the excellent medical resources from Zhejiang province. From now on, all the critical patients hospitalizing in Qingchuan People¡¯s Hospital can receive the distance medical treatments provided by Zhejiang medical experts through online videos. It is introduced by Zhejiang Provincial Health Bureau that, as follow-ups, our province is to allocate the excellent medical resources in the health care organizations at all levels in the whole province and with the help of this Platform develop the all-round health care assistances such as distance consultation, distance supervision, teaching round and continuing education, and thus helping with the reconstruction of Qingchuan medical and health system will be completed thoroughly.
