Zhejiang Businessmen to Invest 1.2 Billion Yuan in Largest Cement Production Line in Sichuan

No earthquake, however severe, can undermine Zhejiang businessmen¡¯s faith in their common development with Sichuan Province. It is learned from Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Sichuan that on June the 5th, Deyang Lisen Cement Co., Ltd., a company invested by Zhejiang businessmen, signed a contract with Shifang Municipal Government in Sichuan to invest 1.2 billion Yuan to build two new-type dry-method cement production lines with an annual output of 2 million tons of cement, which will exceed the largest production capacity of any cement production line in Sichuan. It is learned that this is also the largest investment made by Zhejiang businessmen in Sichuan after the earthquake.

Located in Luoshui Town, Shifang City, Deyang Lisen Cement Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sichuan Lisen Group Co., Ltd, is a large-scale enterprise specializing in cement production. A new-type dry-method cement production line with an annual output of 1.5 million tons, on which the company had invested 400 million yuan, went into production at the end of last year. Unfortunately, due to the Wenchuan earthquake, the company sustained a heavy loss of 130 million yuan.

Such a heavy blow, however, didn¡¯t dishearten Mr. Wang Zhiliang, a Zhejiang businessman who is Chairman of the Board of Sichuan Lisen Group Co., Ltd. Besides donating 6.5 million yuan to the disaster areas, Mr. Wang has decided to increase his investment in Shifang from 700 million yuan to 1.2 billion yuan, all of which will be used to build two new-type dry-method cement production lines, each with an annual output of 2 million tons. In view of the increasing demand for cement in the after-disaster reconstruction, Mr. Wang has decided to start the new project as early as July. And the first production line is expected to be put into production by the end of next year. Mr. Wang told reporters that he had strong faith in the development prospect of Sichuan Province and he hoped that he has clearly demonstrated this belief by increasing investment in Sichuan.
